The challenge
Clad the reinforced concrete balustrades for the stairs of the new multimodal railway station in Mons, Belgium, with 4 mm thick sheets and large-radius curved joints.
The high thickness of the metal sheet combined with the complex geometry of the curved parts required smart solutions that could exceed the limits found by current technologies.
The high performance of our CAD program allowed our laser cutting machine to reproduce the development and geometry of the complex structure precisely to the tenth.
We built special round molds for the best possible folding, and then we moved on to welding and removing welding marks, in which the craftsmanship of our operators played a fundamental role.
The white color RAL 9010 with Qualisteelcoat certification, suitable for outdoor use, defines the look of the entire station.
The result
A balustrade made in a workmanlike manner with all-round details that enrich and give prestige to the stairs of this new train station.
