A robust staircase with a refined and elegant look

The challenge

Architecture with a high aesthetic impact

Clad a helical staircase with scotch brite stainless steel stringers and tempered laminated glass balustrades, extended over 4 floors, for the presidential office of an important building.

The existing staircase, with a 6 meters diameter, extended over 4 floors had to be cladded externally in scotch brite stainless steel with a finished handrail and tempered laminated glass balustrades.

Initially, to have an exact assessment, our technicians went to the site and drew test templates to verify their accuracy, especially in the vicinity of the curved parts.

For the curved stringers we studied an optimal calendering system, also creating specific control templates.
Since each piece is different from one other, we used a numbering method to facilitate assembly.

The glass balustrades had to fit perfectly with the stringers. The partnership was fundamental, as their experience on glass combined with ours on metal allowed us to design the whole thing, including fixing bushings for the adjustment of glass during assembly.

In addition to the staircase, there were landings on each floor, also cladded in scotch brite stainless steel with glass balustrades. Tests were carried out with the consequent seal and anti-slip certifications.

The result

An architectural staircase of high aesthetic level, placed in the center of the building, admirable in all its splendor.
