Sculptures in the city 1971/2024. From the public art of Arnaldo Pomodoro to the urban space of ten young authors.

Pesaro, City of Culture 2024 opens the project “From Sculptures in the City to Community Art” with a reference to the exhibition “Arnaldo Pomodoro: Sculptures in the City 1971,” an occasion when the famous Sfera Grande located on the Pesaro waterfront became part of our city’s heritage.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, this exhibition opened in Pesaro at the Peschiera Visual Arts Center, where a series of archival materials were exhibited, as well as “Colonna intera recisa” and “Rotante massimo, IV,” sculptures by Arnaldo Pomodoro lent for the occasion by the Foundation of the same name.

Dmm, deeply linked and connected with its territory and art, contributed to the implementation of the exhibition, producing ad hoc products for the event and participating in the opening with more than thirty staff members present.

The Dmm s.p.a. award for the 80th Venice International Film Festival

On the occasion of the 80th Venice International Film Festival, the Civitas Foundation ETS promoted the Civitas award in support of social cohesion between generations and the value of the elderly and/or disabled person, won by Matteo Garrone with the film “Io Capitano”.

Dmm, always attentive to themes concerning the value of the person, was able to realise a work capable of promoting the meaning of this award. By combining Peltrox® and Copper, we have represented people indissolubly united within the city, thus referring to Civitas Vitae Marche, a place of social cohesion between generations in the city of Pesaro.

We attended the award ceremony in Venice, honoured to have been able to express through our art values in which we also believe.

The future is what we choose to be

Does everybody of you know the story of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly? It’s the story of a little caterpillar teaching young and old how to always believe in oneself to make their dreams come true. This is exactly what we did, we dreamt of a new and unexpected future, we started to believe in Dmm Futura:

“Becoming the best company in metal and correlated materials manufacturing, connected with and serving Architects, Furniture Industry and Evolved Companies.”

We needed courage, tenacity, a lot of dedication, we had to make our mission true:

Being experts beyond knowledge, to offer really innovative solutions; taking extreme care of clients; by connecting with the world”.

Flying is not jumping into the void, but studying the wind, predicting time, variables, being aware of one’s own experiences and loving freedom, the freedom of creating something that is not there.

Beyond all boundaries

Anywhere you are, in DMM there are no distances!

Even though we prefer human contact, we know how today it is important to connect rapidly.

This is the reason why we decided to dedicate an Area of our headquarters to digital meetings, thanks to a state-of-the-art Meeting Room:

“Our objective is to reduce any kind of distance, being it physical, relational or mental”.

A professional videoconference system with swinging camera and echoless touch multi-speakerphone, make remote conversations clear and pleasant. Circadian-rhythmed lights for a better enjoyable time in harmony with the participants’ wellness. Interactive whiteboard and wireless presentation device, to provide a functional sharing experience, and finally a dynamic and touch panel attendance booking system, to better organize space in an asynchronous and remote way.

“Being close to our clients and partners is not just an end, but a way to conceive our work.

DMM attends the global summit

On November 16 and 17, DMM was a guest at the Global Logistic & Manufacturing Summit, an important event in Lazise, aimed primarily at managers and executives with the goal of finding ideas and solutions for supply chain management and production within their own companies.

Specifically, on November 16, the fruitful collaboration between DMM and Tecnest was presented as an important success case, as it was well described in the “Logistics Management” magazine article.

Giacomo Frulla, responsible for production planning, has had the honor of presenting to the audience how this partnership has been a winning case for our company, by making substantial and important positive changes within the production planning, which have ultimately brought out an improvement in the service to the client.

Dmm finishes in a new architecture

The architect Francesca Franchini, fascinated by our metal finishes, has chosen us for the restoration of the church of Montecchio of Pesaro, whose inauguration was held on Sunday, June 26 presented by Bishop Piero Coccia, who has given thanks on behalf of the community for the completion of the project. Our participation was particularly felt and has seen our finishes as protagonists.

The domes of the church facing outwards, but suggestive even from the inside, are all in light Peltrox finish.

The cross on the roof of the church: Peltrox facing outwards and polished stainless steel on the inside with engraved the date of its installation.

Lastly and of extraordinary beauty, Dmm has worked on the Lectern for the Bible created entirely by hand. Three finishes have characterized the work: from the touch of the base to the titaniox in the central part and the polished stainless steel in the upper part.

To be fair to the restoration of the church, Giuseppe Frulla together with the craftsman that has created the Bible, right after its blessing, have made it famous, putting it on the lectern inside the niche created by one of the domes where everyone can admire it.

A true success story that has touched and has made everyone attending partakers of the event.

Safety at work: the testimony of Dmm

Last May 30, at the Carlo Bò University of Urbino in the department of Law was held the seminar on “the organization of work and the management of security in the small and medium enterprise”.

In truth, our Production Technology and Work Safety Manager, Ferruccio Bortolan, was invited to give testimony of how Dmm has always been sensitive to the problem of work safety, both humanly and functionally, intended as work force.

During the conference, was brought up the importance of continuous research for the improvement of safety that our company has addressed for years thanks to collaborations and interventions.Dmm actually, beyond the collaboration with Geco, company operating in the field of Environment and Work Safety, has implemented its internal structure with the organizational system designed to ensure the achievement of objectives of health and safety (SGLS), following the UNI-INAIL guidelines having supervisory bodies, both internal and external and with periodic checks that would ensure the compliance and the adjustment of observations.

We can say with absolute pride that DMM is careful and compliant with the laws handling in detail staff training, keeping it informed and checking the compliance to the rules with the possibility of sanctioning the misconduct of the worker, when defined by NCBA (National Collective Bargaining Agreement).

Health and work safety of every worker is to us all of key importance.

The idea of that Metal..

Dmm contributes to the development of the territory and the A.T.M. Center in collaboration with Cosmob, Mengaroni institute and the Region for the safeguard and the innovation of the territory and its artistic, artisanal and landscape identity. A project that was born from the deep experience of A.T.M. (Artistic Treatment of Metals) as an artistic training center which aims to excellence and directed primarily by Arnaldo Pomodoro, sculptor of international caliber. Besides the will to establish a wide artistic network that can promote the internationalization and cultural exchange, the project aims to create new employment opportunities by focusing on education at work. In honor of this project, Saturday April 23, 2016, the inauguration of the Sala Arnaldo Pomodoro at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Pietrarubbia was held and the presentation of the new project A.T.M.
During the meeting, the main themes of the experience were discussed: the metal restoration and innovation in artistic and technical training with the testimony of a former student of the A.T.M Center currently employed by Cartier. On this occasion, the following will be open:

  • The Museum of Ceramics ritrovat
  • The medieval metallurgy museum
  • The church of S. Silvestro (with the bronze sun of A. Pomodoro).

Eurocucina and Salone del Mobile of Milan

The 55th edition of the Salone del Mobile of Milan has presented much turnout both at the booths and off-fair and also foreign: Far East, Russia, Germany.
The off-fair becomes increasingly important: for this reason some brands have decided to invest in collective or better, those that can afford it, in the flag ship store.
A climate of recovery and general optimism compared to recent years of recession where the importance of the presence of a leading designer, often architect, is confirmed, and even increased. Such designer brands the collection or the single furnishing: the brand of the manufacturer is no longer enough, the endorsement of the designer is needed to reinforce the strength of the brand. The trends in furnishings have concerned the predominance of dark colors and angled lines where only in rare cases white is still alive. There is a clear growth of marble and stones and ecomalta.
Significant increase in presence of the vintage metal, where stainless steel, copper, brass reign supreme. Big stance of satin stainless steel colored with bright and rich colors. High growth, also, of the painting that mimics the vintage metal effect on a wood base.

If, until 2 years ago, Dmm was almost the only company to offer exclusive vintage finishes, now there are many producers and alternative solutions.
We have seen products such as doors and profiles with finishes that imitate DMM’s, generally of the Peltrox family and in some cases the Satin family. Once again this year our presence at the fair was excellent with about thirty clients served and 150 types of new products sampled.
Our finishes, as usual, were dominant, led by the Satin types that have been used extensively and featured in a few projects. To that, add the customized finishes that were made ad-hoc on specific project.

The main prominent references:

  • Ernestomeda (kitchen in satin and bronzed gb stainless steel finishes)
  • Toncelli (titaniox kitchen)
  • Rossana (polished brass kitchen)
  • Alivar (side tables, armchairs, bookcase in satin finishes)
  • Cesar (golden satin kitchen).

Available is the 2016 Salone Mobile Milan BROCHURE, with the main projects followed during the event.

Dmm alongside the school

We strongly believe in the employment of young people in our company and in their ability to bring innovation and modernity to our context. DMM has actually already implemented projects geared to the integration of young people in the working world. The proof of this is the collaboration undertaken with the Mengaroni High School of Pesaro, giving the possibility to the students of interface with the working world, touching with hand the techniques and the innovation of the machinery of our production department. Main focus is the reduction of the distance between school and work in order to educate the new generations to the importance of tradition, modernizing it thanks to personal and technological skills. This is the right way to foster the Made in Italy and, as Giuseppe Frulla says … “The Made in Italy will survive if we invest in the youth. It’s our responsibility.”
