Clad the imposing curved stone made columns of Doha Airport with an anti-fingerprint AISI 316 stainless steel.

The initial phase involved the construction of substructures in bent sheet metal, to allow the casings to adhere perfectly to the columns, maintaining the existing round shape.

The casings required a specific calendering of the metal, to reach the 15 meters total height of the columns and a maximum diameter of 1400 mm.

The selected finish was micro shot blasted stainless steel with transparent anti-fingerprint protection, highly resistant to bending, in order to avoid possible cracks on the curved metal.

The columns are equipped with bumper rails, some suited for the future integration of audio speakers, others containing electricity boxes with curved plates, all made of anti-fingerprint micro shot blasted stainless steel

To identify the materials during installation, we included clear indications on each crate that refer to the precise placement area of each column, suitable for air and sea transport.
