Clad the columns and balustrades of the Fiumicino airport in steel, with a pewter-like finish but with a cloudy and intense look.

Cladding the columns on the first and second floor – with heights of up to 10 meters and diameters of up to 1.5 meters – required the construction of a substructure frame, to compensate for their irregularities, being cladded in curved steel panels.

The finish for the cladding panels is the Peltrox® Effect with a cloudy look: this effect was developed and customized for this project, to satisfy the customer’s request.

As well as cladding the columns we also manufactured plinths, inserts and tubular trolley bumper rails, in the Scotch Brite stainless steel finish.

The perimeter cladding of the balustrades, about 2 meters high, involved two different finishes: the lower part in painted steel, White Effect, and the upper part in the same finish as the columns cladding, Cloudy Peltrox® Effect.

The packaging consisted in special cages, where each column was accompanied by its packing list, to be easily found and assembled.

A striking finish, which gives style and modernity to these columns and balustrades, tastefully furnishing such an important airport.
