The challenge
Cover a whirlpool tub with irregular geometry, located on the deck of a yacht, with an impactful and three-dimensional finish, the bush-hammered stainless steel.
It was necessary to measure the existing tub, in fiberglass, using a 3D laser scanner, a high-precision and very sophisticated tool that detects every detail of an object.
After the measurement, considering the particular geometry of the tank, we made some templates to verify that the design approximations were correct and only later we produced the bush-hammered panels, a slightly hammered finish that creates a glossy, three-dimensional and materic effect.
To verify that the curved panels fitted perfectly together we carried out the test in our production site and then we assembled them on the final site.
The result
An original bathtub, where the shine of mirror stainless steel and the mechanical processing of bush-hammering come together recreating the same effect as the sun on the sea.
